Next screening: Friday 2 May
‘VOLVER’ (2006), Dir. Pedro Almodovar, 121 minutes (15)
In Pedro Almodovar’s enchating, gentle, transgressive ‘Volver’, a deceased matriarch named Irene (Carmen Maura) has moved in with her sister Paula (Chus Lampleave), who is growing senile and appreciates some help around the house, especially with the baking. They live, or whatever you’d call it, in a Spanish town where the men die young, and the women spend weekends cheerfully polishing and tending their graves.
Wednesday 7 May (6.30 – 8 pm) at Hilldrop Community Centre Community Lane, Hilldrop Road, London N7 0JE.
A journey into the lives and stories behind the faces we pass in the streets of Tufnell Park, revealing a passion for community and shared history.
Collaborative film project created by local volunteers and funded by the Community Development Foundation
A big thank you to everybody who attended this year’s festival, and to all the film makers, speakers, volunteers and committee members who gave their time and creativity to make the festival a success!
Reflecting the theme of ’Home is Where I Want to Be’, we programmed an affordable and diverse weekend of screenings, talks, workshops, and live music.
