vovler9872345In Pedro Almodovar’s enchating, gentle, transgressive ‘Volver’, a deceased matriarch named Irene (Carmen Maura) has moved in with her sister Paula (Chus Lampleave), who is growing senile and appreciates some help around the house, especially with the baking. They live, or whatever you’d call it, in a Spanish town where the men die young, and the women spend weekends cheerfully polishing and tending their graves.

Reel Islington Film Festival 2014 

RIFF 2014A big thank you to everybody who attended this year’s festival, and to all the film makers, speakers, volunteers and committee members who gave their time and creativity to make the festival a success!

Reflecting the theme of ’Home is Where I Want to Be’, we programmed an affordable and diverse weekend of screenings, talks, workshops, and live music.

The Reel Islington Film Festival took place at Resource for London from 28 February – 2 March.
